Our FLT Operative's are responsible for the movement of vehicles and parts on and off storage racks and transporters, within and between the premises and the transportation of any other parts, material or equipment as directed. Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Forklift Driving
  • Move vehicles off and on the racks for other operatives as requested, including using stands where needed
  • Move vehicles, parts, material, racks or equipment between the storage area and other areas as requested
  • As required, ensure a continual supply of vehicles for de-pollution, dismantling or other operations as required and return to appropriate storage area once work completed
  • Assist with the stock rotation system, carrying out the appropriate vehicle movements needed on racks to accommodate new vehicles or to fill gaps in racks
  • Assist with a periodic stock check of all vehicles on storage racks
  • Locate and load vehicles onto transporters for distribution, unload vehicles from transporters and store in appropriate location
  • Occasionally dismantle parts as requested
  • Assist with the fulfilment of export orders as required
  • Ensure that all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide cover for any other appropriate and any other duties as may be required

Here’s what you bring

  • Experience of working in a similar environment using FLT’s
  • Forklift truck license – counterbalance and telescopic - rough terrain
  • Experience of working in vehicle mechanics, dismantling etc
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to identify a range of different types of vehicles and parts
  • Work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy weights in a safe manner
  • Experience of working outdoors in all weathers
