- Role Purpose
The VFAST Engineering Standards & Assurance Lead is responsible for defining, governing and continually improving the engineering standards that underpin the VFAST network.
Acting as the technical authority for VFASTEngineering, the role ensures every deployment, maintenance activity and infrastructure change is delivered consistently, safely and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with Engineering, Projects, Service Delivery, Commercial and Service Desk, the role provides technical governance, project support, quality assurance and operational planning while driving continuous improvement across the engineering function.
This is an in-house operational engineering role focused on owning how engineering is delivered rather than directly managing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain engineering standards, build specifications and installation methodologies.
- Define standard designs, documentation and technical working practices.
- Ensure consistency across all park deployments, maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades.
- Own engineering documentation, technical standards and operational procedures.
- Review emerging technologies and incorporate improvements into engineering standards.
- Quality Assurance
- Own the engineering quality assurance framework.
- Conduct technical audits and quality inspections across installations and maintenance activities.
- Review completed works to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
- Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop quality metrics and reporting to drive continual improvement.
- Technical Authority
- Provide technical governance across engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Review and approve technical surveys, network designs and implementation plans.
- Provide final technical sign-off for complex installations and infrastructure changes.
- Support engineering teams during technically challenging deployments.

- Work with Network Engineering to ensure operational standards align with core network architecture.
- Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure technical standards are reflected in engineer training and competency frameworks.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure engineering standards comply with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Embed Safe Systems of Work into all engineering standards and procedures.
- Support internal audits and regulatory compliance activities.
