Based at our Aberdeen Depot, you’ll work hands‑on with our fleet of vehicles, helping to ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for hire when our customers need them.
How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions: Your expertise ensures JP Rentals operates smoothly by minimising vehicle downtime and maintaining a roadworthy fleet. By keeping our vehicles in top condition, you directly support the delivery of reliable, high-quality hire solutions, boosting customer satisfaction and fleet availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of vehicles in the workshop
- Carry out routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Inspect and address engine management systems, braking systems, electrical systems, and more
- Ensure vehicles meet safety standards and pass inspections
- Test and verify the function of replaced or repaired components
- Comply with all legal, health, and safety regulations
- Identify and report signs of wear and tear during scheduled inspections
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to complete tasks efficiently
- Communicate concerns to the Rentals Manager and/or Workshop Manager
- Assist with general workshop and depot maintenance and repairs as needed
What Will Make You a Great Fit: We’d love to see the following skills and experience from our applicants:
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on multi‑fleet vehicles
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work efficiently
- Attention to detail, ensuring vehicle safety and high‑quality work
- Clear communication skills with both technical and non‑technical team members
- Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals
- Proactive approach with a strong sense of responsibility
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
N.B: Vehicle Mechanics are expected to supply their own basic hand tools. Jarvie Plant will provide all necessary specialist tools, PPE, and branded workwear.
