The key purpose of this role is to keep production moving efficiently and ensure all customer orders are completed accurately and on time. This is a non‑managerial, operational support role with no formal people management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Flow & Organisation
- Maintain smooth production flow and resolve issues that could cause delays.
- Prevent cage jams by ensuring cages are positioned correctly for offloading, processing, and collection.
- Organise the yard and factory floor daily by 10:00am.
- Carry out daily checks to ensure no customer orders are left in incorrect locations.
- Ensure work bins are in the correct order and location at all times.
- Performance & Targets
- Carry out hourly checks to ensure production areas are on track to meet daily targets.
- Escalate delays or issues to management when identified.
- Cover production areas when required and provide feedback on root cause and prevention.
- Manage the Kanban system including ordering, confirming delivery, and stock flow.
- Manage daily stock put-away and system updates.
- Inspect wash bags and arrange repair or replacement.
- Order and manage EcoLab chemicals and organise barrel collections.
- Ensure scrap is organised, recorded, and disposed of correctly.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards.
- People, Training & Inductions
- Support staff inductions.
- Assist with ongoing training across production areas.
- Customer & Management Support
- Support preparations for customer visits.
- Provide operational support to the Production Manager, Transport Manager, and General Manager.
