Community Support Worker in Rotherham

Rotherham Full-Time No working from home possible
R

Rotherham, Yorkshire S60, United Kingdom

Part-time Permanent Entry Level

Description

We’re on the lookout for a Community Support Worker to join our friendly and enthusiastic team in Rotherham. This is a part‑time role, 20 hours per week, with a salary of £24,672.38 per year (pro rata).

We are part of diverse and inclusive local communities and represent them in our work.

In support of our Rotherham Social Value Reporting, we particularly welcome applications from candidates who live within the Rotherham area.

What you’ll do:

You’ll work with local people to build their skills, local connections and friendships. You’ll make sure that the people you work with (Members) are doing as much as they can for themselves, that they are looking after themselves and that they have a life that is bigger than social care support.

  • For David, this meant helping him to sort out his money so that he paid his bills and had some money left over to spend on what he’s really passionate about: World of Warcraft. Now he feels in control of his money, he has a new goal and is saving for a trip abroad.
  • For Carol, it was about setting alarms so that she remembered to take her tablets. Now she feels less anxious she’s getting out and about and meeting other Members.

You’ll feel inspired and help inspire people. You’ll encourage them to try new things and have new experiences. You’ll reassure but you won’t take over. Every Member you support is unique, and every day will be different.

Your role will be out and about. You’ll meet people in their homes or at local venues.

What you won’t be expected to do:

We support people with a lot of different things to do with leading an ordinary life, but we don’t do things like bathing people or taking them to the toilet. This is sometimes called personal care. If people need personal care, we will work with other local support providers to make sure they get what they need.

Your diverse and inclusive workplace:

Our vision is for a welcoming world that celebrates the skills and talents of everybody.

KeyRing is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community. KeyRing is also a disability confident committed employer. We encourage applications from our diverse communities to help us make this happen. We want you to feel at home, and be yourself, so we can benefit from your unique skills and talents.

Company Overview

We are an adult social care provider inspiring people in England and Wales to build the life they want to live. People have so much potential. KeyRing support recognises and builds on this potential. People become peer supporters for each other, they build connections and they become valued members of their local community. The KeyRing approach is based on designing services around individuals and communities, their connections, their skills and their ambitions.
