Do you enjoy helping customers and being part of a busy retail team? We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual to join our Retail Team at Dean’s York Garden Centre. If you’re passionate about providing excellent customer service and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Retail Assistant, you’ll help us achieve our ambition of being Yorkshire’s premier garden centre and family destination. You’ll play an important role in ensuring every customer has a GREAT experience during their visit. This role will mainly involve working on the tills and supporting our customer service areas, while also assisting other departments across the garden centre when needed.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 11:00 am – 3:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing GREAT customer service to all visitors
  • Operating tills and processing customer transactions accurately
  • Assisting customers with enquiries and purchases
  • Supporting other departments across the garden centre when required
  • Helping to keep retail areas clean, tidy, and well stocked
  • Answering customer queries in person and over the phone
  • Assisting during busy periods to ensure a smooth customer experience
  • Processing cash and debit/credit card transactions
  • Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operations
  • Helping customers find products and offering guidance where needed
  • And most importantly… Smiling and being Happy!

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Retail or customer service experience preferred
  • Willing to support different departments and team members
  • Ability to work at pace in a busy retail environment
