Comfy Quilts, located on Stakehill Industrial Estate in Middleton, is recruiting a focused and driven Production Technical Shift Manager to join our production team on permanent nights. Reporting to the Production Shift Manager, you will work alongside another Technical Shift Manager to ensure a consistent way of working across all production lines and shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the UK's largest supplier of filled bedding products.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement, quality and people development. The role requires effective teamwork, practical problem-solving skills, initiative, sound judgement and an unwavering focus on our people and the quality of the products we manufacture.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and support across the production operation.
- Deliver production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
- Lead team development to drive optimal performance and promote continuous improvement.
- Support the effective operation and continuous improvement of the Automated Material Retrieval System (AMRS), working closely with production teams to maximise efficiency, minimise downtime and maintain operational standards.
- Ensure standardised methods of machine setup and operation are maintained across all production lines and shifts.
- Ensure all operators are proficient in the systems, processes and equipment required to perform their roles effectively.
- Work collaboratively with production teams to achieve manufacturing targets, continually striving to exceed expectations and improve output while maintaining product quality.
- Support the identification and delivery of training and development requirements in line with individual and team performance.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, promoting upskilling and proactively raising performance issues with the Production Shift Manager where appropriate.
- Actively promote the importance of Health and Safety.
