We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join our team at Glasgow Prestwick Airport, supporting the fast-paced e-commerce and import operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse during your assigned shift. You will lead a team of warehouse staff to ensure that goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately, efficiently, and safely, while maintaining high standards of productivity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operation within Terminal E, ensuring that a high level of customer service is provided to all customers.
  • Professionally manage/supervise all staff within your control ensuring compliance with all company and departmental procedures.
  • Support and guide team leaders with their daily tasks.
  • Liaise with any customers as and when required.
  • Be the point of contact for any final‑mile providers, ensuring they are updated at all times on progress and any required changes during the shift.
  • Ensure all processes are followed in relation to customers/UKBF procedures.
  • Ensure that a cost‑effective operation is in place and to minimise overtime and lieu.
  • Ensure all trucks are released as per our departmental procedures.
  • Recognise areas of improvement within the section and highlight training needs with staff, reporting this to the Manager.
  • Ensure that all vehicles, manpower and equipment are managed and operated in a safe and compliant manner in or around the warehouse, including ensuring all pre‑use checks are undertaken.
  • Ensure all staff are trained to undertake any tasks or operate any equipment that they may be required to use.
  • Liaise with all operational managers and supervisors for the best allocation of manpower.
  • Communicate with operational departments, such as Ground handling, Cargo Services, Aviation Services and Motor Transport to ensure an efficient operation.

About You

  • Significant experience working in a warehouse, logistics, cargo, or operational environment.
  • Demonstrable experience supervising or managing teams.
  • Experience managing shift‑based operations.
  • Experience working to operational procedures and compliance standards.
  • Experience dealing with operational deadlines and service critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including goods receipt, storage, and dispatch.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to manage people, equipment, and workload safely and efficiently.
  • Understanding of data protection principles and confidentiality.
  • Ability to complete records, reports, and documentation accurately.
  • Experience working in an aviation, airport, or controlled environment.
  • Experience liaising with external partners, customers, or service providers.
  • Experience of roster planning, absence management, and overtime control.
  • Work under own initiative & operate under pressure.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
