Summary:

Due to company growth we are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our Warehouse team in Preston. This permanent, full-time role up to 35 hours a week is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse, contributing to the smooth movement of goods within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting our friendly QED Team that prioritises excellent customer service and delivery, while ensuring our Team are all GOOD PEOPLE who care about our partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process incoming stock and materials
  • Checking for damaged or missing items
  • Pick, check and fill orders from stock
  • Pack and ship orders accurately and efficiently ready for dispatch
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock checks and records
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and organised
  • Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, including pallet loading
  • Operating pallet wrapping machine
  • Building Data Cabinets when required
  • Providing help/assistance to other Team members
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Forklift license is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills whilst working towards deadlines
  • Good communication skills and multi-tasking abilities
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and lift heavy items
  • Basic computer skills
  • Honest, trustworthy, being able to communicate no matter the news and to care
