Description

Job Title: HGV Class 2 / Category C Delivery Driver

Salary: Β£14.00 per hour

Role Purpose

To safely and efficiently deliver and collect goods to and from customer sites, ensuring high standards of customer service, compliance, and vehicle care at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Deliveries

  • Operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle in a safe and lawful manner
  • Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections in line with daily schedules
  • Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and transported safely
  • Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift, reporting defects promptly
  • Comply with all driving legislation, including driver hours and tachograph regulations

Customer Service

  • Act as a professional representative of the Company at customer sites
  • Build positive working relationships with customers
  • Handle delivery queries or issues calmly and professionally
  • Obtain accurate delivery/collection confirmations (e.g., signatures, handheld devices)

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures
  • Follow manual handling guidelines when loading/unloading goods
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including vehicle security and uniform standards
  • Report accidents, incidents, or near misses in line with company procedures

Operational Support

  • Assist with loading/unloading vehicles where required
  • Support warehouse or production teams during quieter periods if needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle

Key Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good knowledge of UK road transport laws and driver hours regulations
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Experience within logistics, laundry, or similar service environments
  • Basic vehicle maintenance awareness

Additional Information

  • Early starts and occasional overtime may be required

Compliance Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK must be established prior to employment
  • Driving licence checks will be carried out
  • Ongoing compliance with Driver CPC requirements is mandatory
