We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Meridian School 20 hours per week on a Term-Time only basis. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Chef Manager and team members in preparing and cooking meals, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chef Manager and kitchen team in preparing and serving meals
- Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow all food safety and health and safety policies
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
- Assist with food preparation and service
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef Manager
Qualifications:
- Food safety qualification (Training provided)
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and health and safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
