Henig Diamonds is one of the UK’s leading diamond and jewellery suppliers, serving retailers and industry professionals across the country. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to lead and develop our Operations Department. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth running of operational activities across inventory, dispatch, quality control, returns, repairs, and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving efficiency, accountability, and scalability across the business.

The Role

Reporting directly to the COO, the Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operational performance, ensuring processes are efficient, teams are aligned, and company standards are consistently maintained. You will be responsible for building structure, improving workflows, monitoring performance, and supporting the continued growth of the business through strong operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management
    • Manage and oversee daily operational activities across all operational departments.
    • Ensure priorities are clearly communicated and resources are allocated effectively.
    • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
    • Promote collaboration and communication between departments.
    • Build accountability and ownership across operational teams.
    • Support business growth through scalable operational processes.
  • Inventory Governance & Stock Control
    • Maintain and improve stock accuracy across the business.
    • Investigate stock discrepancies and inventory issues.
    • Manage missing stones and missing certificate processes.
    • Oversee inventory audits and stock control procedures.
    • Ensure stock is organised, secure, and accurately recorded.
    • Support future inventory automation and RFID initiatives.
  • Dispatch & Fulfilment Oversight
    • Oversee order fulfilment and dispatch operations.
    • Monitor workload, priorities, and operational performance.
    • Improve dispatch efficiency and service levels.
    • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
  • Quality Control & India Operations
    • Manage the India-based stock checking and QC team.
    • Ensure stock checking and quality control activities are completed within agreed timeframes.
    • Coordinate shipment checks and supplier visit priorities.
    • Monitor rejection rates and recurring supplier issues.
    • Escalate operational concerns where necessary.
    • Provide operational reporting and performance visibility to the buying team.
    • Oversee supplier returns, repairs, warranty claims, and jobbing activities.
    • Monitor turnaround times and service standards.
    • Ensure customer and supplier returns are processed accurately.
    • Drive improvements within after-sales processes.
    • Improve communication between sales teams, suppliers, workshops, and operations.
  • Process Improvement & Projects
    • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and efficiency.
    • Support the implementation of KPIs and operational best practices.
    • Assist with Zoho implementation and future system developments.
    • Standardise procedures, documentation, and operational processes.
    • Support long-term growth and scalability of the Operations Department.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an operations Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple teams and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Experience in inventory management, stock control, logistics, or fulfilment operations.
  • Comfortable driving change and implementing process improvements.
  • Experience within jewellery, diamonds, luxury goods, wholesale, or distribution environments is highly recommended.
