Whilst duties vary dependent upon your level of experience, the below gives an indication of what you can expect to be involved in working within the OHL team at Groundline.

Purpose: To create and check overhead line designs, focusing on delivery, quality and problem solving in order for Groundline to deliver. To monitor hours spent, and ensure deliverables are completed within budget and timeframe.

Role Delivery:

  • Use industry standard software to produce and check overhead line designs.
  • Utilise the company’s software resources to deliver detailed and accurate technical documentation.
  • Produce and check design inputs and outputs in line with statutory, CDM and industry specific standards.
  • Work with the Project Manager to facilitate project delivery.
  • Identify and review amendments to technical drawings and documentation.
  • Consider risks and constraints in project handovers.

Knowledge:

  • Production of industry specific construction material (Essential)
  • Use of Power Line Systems software (Essential)
  • Project team member experience of delivering successfully to intricate time bound, budgetary parameters (Essential)
  • Autonomous working to deadlines, raising concerns and challenges in a timely manner (Essential)
  • Experience of working within power line/telecoms/utilities sectors (Essential)

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree (Civil/Mechanical) (Essential)
  • Working towards chartership (Desired)
