Description
Star Pelaw Greyhound Stadium are seeking to recruit a reliable, detail-oriented cleaner or a duo to maintain high standards of cleanliness across our stadium and kennel facilities. This flexible part-time role is ideal for an individual looking for steady weekly hours or a pair of cleaners who prefer working together.
Areas to be cleaned:
- Washrooms
- Bar and customer seating areas
- Restaurant and dining areas
- Office and staff areas
- Corridors, entrances and general areas
Weekly Shift Options & Working Hours:
Total hours: 9 - 19 hours per week (depending on shift structure if working alone or as a pair).
- Monday: 2 people required (or 1 person covering both areas across two days)
- Stadium Clean: 4 - 5 hours
- Kennel Block Clean: 4 hours
- Stadium Clean: 4 - 5 hours
- Saturday: 1 person
- Stadium Clean: 4 - 5 hours
Note for Pairs: Midweek and Saturday shifts can be split between 2 people (2-2.5 hours each per shift).
Note for Solo Applicants: If you work alone, the Monday kennel shift can be moved to Wednesday or Thursday to spread out your hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Surfaces & Workstations
- Wipe down all tables, countertops, and flat surfaces
- Dust and wipe accessible desks and work surfaces in office and staff areas without disturbing paperwork or personal belongings
- Clean accessible worktops, sinks, external appliance surfaces, and refreshment areas
- Spot clean internal door glass, accessible glass surfaces, mirrors, and chrome fittings
- Spot clean doors, partitions, and walls; remove dust and cobwebs from ledges, skirtings, and fittings
- Floors, Entrances & Seating Areas
- Vacuum carpeted areas, paying special attention to high-traffic zones, corridors, edges, and corners
- Vacuum, sweep, and damp-mop all hard floors across entrances, corridors, and general areas using appropriate disinfectant
- Dust and clean all customer seating areas, office spaces, and public corridors
- Ensure bar, restaurant, and dining areas are left clean, tidy, and presentable ready for use
- Washrooms & Hygiene
- Thoroughly sanitize all toilets, washrooms, urinals, taps, and basins
- Descale WC pans, urinals, taps, and basins as required to prevent build-up
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces (door handles, handrails, light switches)
- Check and replenish toilet rolls, hand soap, and other client-provided consumables
- Empty all bins and dispose of waste properly throughout the facility
- Kennel Block Cleaning (Once Weekly):
- Remove general waste and debris from kennel areas and empty waste bins
- Jet wash and deep clean the kennel block area to high hygiene standards
- Sweep/vacuum flooring as appropriate prior to deep cleaning
- Clean and disinfect kennel floors using suitable specialist products
- Clean and sanitise doors, handles, gates and other frequently touched surfaces
- Spot clean washable walls and other surfaces where required
- Leave kennel areas clean, hygienic and free from visible dirt and debris
Requirements
- High attention to detail and high standard of cleanliness
- Experience operating a jet washer (preferred)
- Previous experience in commercial, venue, or animal facility cleaning is a plus
- Ability to work independently or effectively as a team
- Reliability and consistency across the scheduled shift pattern
