An opportunity has arisen for a Mill Cleaner at our Preston Mill. The mill operates 24 hours, 7 days per week and the shift rota is geared to support this, although occasionally, some flexibility may be required to cover absence, holidays etc., for which overtime is paid. For the successful applicant, the core pattern will be Monday to Friday 6am - 4pm (with some flexibility).

The job holder will work alongside the mill shift teams, with responsibilities including maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the mill. The successful candidate will undertake regular inspections of the mill, highlighting any deviations from our high standards of quality and safety. A basic understanding of COSHH would be an advantage.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate full appreciation of working within a culture that encourages teamwork and where Health & Safety considerations are first and foremost. The site is run by a small team of motivated individuals, so a willingness to gain experience in other areas of the business is an advantage. If you have forklift truck experience that would be advantageous.

It is important that the job holder is a dependable team player as they will be an essential part of the site team. The successful applicant will be practical and possess good interpersonal skills. Candidates must live within reasonable commutable distance to our Preston site.

The successful applicant will use equipment such as brush, shovel, wheelbarrows, portable and central vacuum system, and jetwash. Working as a team player, you will liaise with the mill team to have cleaning activities on a schedule, report leaks to maintenance and work in a safe manner.
