Location: Peckham Warehouse (with occasional work at stores or installation sites)

Job Purpose

As a Warehouse & Logistics Operative at The Nunhead Gardener, you’ll play a key role in keeping our stores and customers supplied with products. From unloading and pricing deliveries to preparing replenishment orders, delivering stock to stores, and assisting with installations, this is a varied and physical role. You’ll work closely with our store teams and play an essential part in the smooth running of our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries of indoor pots, tools, homeware, and garden accessories.
  • Open, check, and price high volumes of stock.
  • Consolidate and organise stock in our small warehouse to maximise space.
  • Pick and prepare weekly store replenishment orders for our four stores.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency when packing stock for delivery.

Deliveries & Driving

  • Drive the company van to deliver stock to stores.
  • Occasionally deliver orders directly to customers, including Christmas trees during peak season.
  • Safely load and unload goods, ensuring they arrive in good condition.

Support for Installations & Events

  • Assist with plant installation jobs, helping carry pots, plants, and compost to site.
  • Support the team during seasonal busy periods, especially Christmas.

Systems & Communication

  • Learn and use the company’s stock management system.
  • Communicate effectively with store teams to ensure smooth supply.

Skills & Requirements

  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • Physically fit and comfortable with lifting, moving, and handling stock.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills; a team player with a flexible attitude.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, or stock handling (preferred but not essential).
  • Interest in plants, gardening, or landscaping (a bonus, but training provided).
