The Role
The Head of Content & Programming (Maternity Cover) plays a key role in helping to shape and deliver Purple Dragon’s programme of activities, adventures, camps, events and family experiences.
Working collaboratively with senior leadership, club teams and content contributors, this role is responsible for developing engaging, imaginative and developmentally appropriate experiences that bring the Purple Dragon brand to life.
From babies taking their first sensory adventure to teenagers exploring new interests, and from seasonal celebrations to whole-family experiences, this role helps ensure that Purple Dragon’s programming remains fresh, innovative, operationally deliverable and consistently aligned with our brand standards and member experience.
This is a highly creative role requiring strong planning, organisational and collaboration skills, together with a passion for play, hospitality and creating memorable experiences for families.
- Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership and club teams to curate and develop programmes across all activity streams.
- Contribute to the development of monthly themes, seasonal programming, camps, events and family activations.
- Create engaging activities, adventures, classes and experiences for children aged 6 months to 18 years, alongside whole-family experiences.
- Develop creative content, activity plans and programme resources that support high-quality delivery across the club.
- Ensure content is imaginative, engaging, developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Purple Dragon brand and member experience.
- Review and provide constructive feedback to content contributors, supporting continuous improvement and programme quality.
- Support the onboarding and development of team members by creating content guidance, activity resources and best-practice frameworks.
- Ensure all activities are safe, inclusive, age-appropriate and aligned with safeguarding and organisational requirements.
- Research trends, ideas and inspiration from the worlds of children’s experiences, family hospitality, entertainment, toys, books, culture and play.
- Drive innovation through new programme concepts, themed experiences, seasonal events, family activations and product recommendations.
- Curate and maintain programme resources, activity plans and content materials, ensuring they remain organised, current and accessible.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in content creation, programme planning, events, children’s activities, hospitality, family entertainment or a related creative field.
- Exceptional written and spoken English, with the ability to create engaging, polished and professional content.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate programming, play-based engagement and safeguarding best practice.
- Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to develop engaging programme content and present ideas clearly and creatively.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Enhanced DBS check.
