Role Overview: We are looking for a fully qualified Gas Supervisor to join our operational team based throughout Scotland, as well as being a vital member of our group compliance team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in the day-to-day management of our gas compliance service delivery across Scotland whilst supporting our team of Gas Engineers with trouble-shooting, repairing, and maintaining gas related installations and heating systems in residential and commercial settings. A strong focus on customer service and problem-solving is essential.

Working closely with our gas teams that span across Scotland, you will ensure that we continue to deliver an excellent compliance service that delivers an effective, efficient, productive and compliant gas service to our clients. You will be the main point of contact primarily covering one of our many prestigious contracts throughout Scotland, and responsible for the Gas Safety and Compliance. You will also provide cross cover to other areas of the business during peak demand and absence. You will be the “Go To Person” for our Gas Safe Registration as we continue to expand our offering of providing an unrivalled service delivering gas compliance across the UK for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and commissioning of various Gas, Oil, LPG and associated heating systems and services.
  • Supporting and assisting in diagnosing and rectifying faults.
  • Respond to service calls for repairs, installations, and maintenance when needed.
  • Ensure all work complies with local and national regulations, ACoP’s, Best Practice and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with other managers & supervisors as needed for comprehensive service.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Act as the custodian and responsible person for all Gas, LPG, Oil related accreditation and memberships.
  • Carry out and record Quality Control Inspections on work in progress and post works, identifying any non-compliances, liaising and arranging for these to be rectified and overseen through to completion.
  • Be organised and structured in work approach to ensure timescales are being achieved.
  • Identify and arrange asbestos surveys where required in accordance with CAR 2012 regulations for works prior to commencement.
  • Lead by example on the development, implementation, maintenance and management of systems, policies, procedures, and standards within area of responsibility.
  • Be organised and proficient in the use of various ICT systems, regulations, legislation and H&S, landlord and tenants act.
  • Act as the representative and face of CARDO at all times.
  • Provide clear and concise communication on progress and activity in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills, including letter writing.
  • Strong negotiation skills and treating others with respect.
  • Review, assist in development and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements across the electrical team.
  • Compile statistical reports and presentations.
  • Carry out regular audit checks to ensure that electrical equipment, probes, leads etc are calibrated, safe and compliant.
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards are met on-site.
  • Maintain records relating to health, safety, environmental and gas, LPG, oil documentation.
  • Carry out in-house training to staff including CPD training and toolbox talks.
  • Identify risk and opportunity on the risk register.
  • Represent CARDO Group and its subsidiary businesses at client meetings from a compliance & SHE perspective.
  • Identify potential hazards and put controls in place to reduce/mitigate.
  • Ensure that equipment used is installed, serviced and maintained in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and legislation.
  • Keep up to date with electrical, mechanical, gas, health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Undertake any training required relevant to your role.
  • Provide technical support, guidance and assistance to client, DLO operatives and supply chain partners.
  • Act as the technical and compliance lead for our MCS accreditation primarily in the Scottish Regions, possibly expanding.
  • Conduct technical audits across the businesses Easy MCS system and projects to ensure compliance with MCS accreditations.

You will need:

  • Fully qualified time-served heating & plumbing apprenticeship.
  • Thorough working knowledge of current Gas, LPG & Oil regulations.
  • Self-motivated with good organisational skills.
  • Committed to providing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Minimum of 3 years industry experience, preferably within a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong problem-solving with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, emails (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
