We are looking for a marketing professional to take ownership of acquisition marketing strategy at Opera North. Our 15-strong Audiences team is dynamic and fast-paced, working across touring opera, orchestral concerts, film screenings, gigs and our venue, the Howard Assembly Room. Working with a team of experienced marketers, designers and content creators, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented, award-winning team.
You’ll play a pivotal role from day one, taking the lead on campaigns and projects to bring Opera North’s work to new audiences across Leeds and the North, motivating the team to continue delivering success. Key accountabilities:- Develop, monitor and optimise cross-platform campaigns to drive new audiences and meet key sales and engagement targets, leading and motivating a team of marketing professionals whose work includes paid social, PPC, SEO, out-of-home, print and distribution, email and content creation.
- Programme unique experiences and initiatives specifically for first-time opera-goers to introduce opera in new and unexpected ways and create memorable first encounters with opera.
- Play a pivotal role in facilitating collaborative meetings that produce actionable insights and focus on continuous improvement.
- Work closely with tour venues on developing and implementing marketing campaigns for our shows, sharing key targets, messages and assets, monitoring sales, budget and activity, and facilitating regular meetings to track progress and drive box office revenue.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Lead (CRM) to ensure acquisition activity is the first step in a successful growth marketing strategy supported by retention activity.
- Monitor marketing campaign budgets, tracking and reporting expenditure and ensuring activity is within budget.
- As part of a group of Team Leads, oversee and implement processes that ensure a smooth-running, efficient team.
- Effectively line manage three direct reports.
- Ability to motivate a team of marketing professionals to meet sales and engagement targets.
- Ability to work supportively and collaboratively within a team, as well as autonomously.
- Well organised with the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines and plan and prioritise workload.
- Curious and experimental, excited to test out new ideas, with a data-driven approach to measuring success.
- Contract type: Fixed Term (12 months) - Maternity Cover
- Salary: £35,000 per annum
- Hours of work: 35 hours per week
- Holiday entitlement: 33 days (pro rata) inclusive of 8 statutory holidays, per annum
- Pension: Opera North will automatically enroll you into the company pension scheme upon appointment and after 3 months’ service will contribute equivalent to 5.5% of your basic pay, should you meet the current legislative criteria. You will be required to make a personal contribution of 2.5% of your basic pay. We reserve the right to make future changes to our pension arrangements.
