One Hatfield Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, is located in Hertfordshire and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse to join our friendly, supportive, and dynamic Paediatric team on a Flexibank arrangement. Reporting to the Paediatric Lead, the successful paediatric nurse will work across the young people services, delivering exceptional, individualised patient care as part of a highly skilled clinical team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing patient needs and planning, delivering, and evaluating nursing care while ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout their visit or admission.
- Building positive rapport with patients and providing emotional support, education, and healthcare advice to patients and their families or carers.
- Undertaking a range of clinical nursing procedures, including administering medication, monitoring vital signs, ECGs, venepuncture, and assisting with ENT, gynae and minor procedures.
- Maintaining accurate and timely patient records, reporting changes or concerns appropriately, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, national guidelines, and best practice standards.
- Contributing to effective clinic handovers, audit activity, and service improvement, while working both independently and collaboratively within the wider clinical team.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with NMC.
Experience:
- Clinical nursing experience in outpatients, theatre or clinic environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
Skills:
- Demonstrable knowledge and skills and competency of required clinical practice.
- Phlebotomy and ECGs would be an advantage.
- Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web-based reporting systems.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding principles.
- Enthusiasm for cross-functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
- Relevant clinical skills in addition to assist with minor procedures.
