Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our dispatch and kitting team in Upperlands, Northern Ireland. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and is looking to develop their skills within a busy operational environment.

The General Operative will support the day-to-day running of the dispatch and kitting area, ensuring products and components are accurately picked, prepared, packed and dispatched on time. The role requires good attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety and organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and prepare products and components for customer orders.
  • Assemble and complete kits accurately in line with work instructions and order requirements.
  • Check quantities, part numbers and product details to ensure orders are correct.
  • Pack products safely and securely, ready for dispatch.
  • Label and prepare completed orders for collection or delivery.
  • Carry out quality and accuracy checks throughout the picking, kitting and dispatch process.
  • Report any shortages, damaged items, discrepancies or other issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and organised working area.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Work as part of a team to meet daily productivity and dispatch targets.
  • Assist with stock movements, replenishment and general warehouse duties as required.
  • Use basic warehouse equipment safely and correctly following appropriate training.
  • Participate in training and development activities to learn new processes and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • No formal qualifications are required; GCSEs in Maths and English are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, dispatch, logistics, manufacturing or kitting environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Reliable, punctual and willing to take responsibility for completing tasks to a high standard.
  • Physically able to carry out the duties associated with a busy dispatch and kitting environment.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A positive attitude towards health and safety, quality and continuous improvement.
