Savour Bakery Café & Patisserie is looking for a talented and reliable Certified Pastry Chef to join our growing team in Gateshead.
We are looking for someone who can confidently follow established recipes, techniques and production standards, while also bringing an open mind and enthusiasm for developing new products across different areas of the bakery.
The Role
- Producing high-quality pastries and desserts consistently, working closely with our existing pastry and bakery team.
- Following established recipes and techniques accurately and consistently.
- Producing pastries, desserts and other patisserie products to a high standard.
- Working with laminated pastries; previous experience is preferred, although we are happy to develop someone who is genuinely keen to learn from our team.
- Supporting product development and helping create new products across different departments.
- Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, consistency and quality.
- Working collaboratively with the wider bakery and kitchen team.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation.
What We’re Looking For
- Certified or professionally qualified Pastry Chef.
- Strong ability to follow recipes, processes and techniques.
- Some experience with laminated pastries, or a genuine willingness to learn.
- Chocolatier or chocolate work experience is highly desirable and will be given preference.
- Creative and open-minded, with an interest in developing new products.
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working as part of a busy team.
- Able to adapt working hours when production requirements change.
Working Hours
- This is a full-time, 6-day-a-week position: Sunday to Friday, Saturday off.
- 8-hour shifts per day; early starts required, usually from 6am.
- Flexibility is essential as working hours may occasionally need to change depending on production requirements.
Applicants must already live locally or within reasonable travelling distance of Gateshead and have the existing right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
