We’re looking for a broadly skilled, security-conscious DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure function and work closely with our Infrastructure Lead. This role is about bringing stability, scalability, and security maturity to an evolving platform - not just "keeping the lights on" but helping us move faster and more safely as the business grows. You’ll work alongside the team on core infrastructure and DevOps responsibilities, contributing to the platform’s reliability, security posture, and long-term direction.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to and improve our cloud infrastructure, reliability, and operational posture.
- Design, maintain, and evolve Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment flows, and operational automation.
- Actively contribute to security and compliance practices (e.g. baseline controls, audits, reviews).
- Support observability and monitoring across our platform.
- Help reduce single points of failure across infrastructure and DevOps.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, with a focus on prevention and long‑term fixes.
- Work closely with engineering teams to support delivery without friction.
- Pair and collaborate regularly with the Infrastructure Lead.
- Help shape standards, patterns, and ways of working.
- Provide practical input into future infrastructure and security decisions.
- Be involved in technical discussions around platform direction and trade‑offs.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience in DevOps / infrastructure roles in production environments.
- A security‑conscious approach to infrastructure and engineering work - you don’t need to be a security specialist, but it should be something you actively think about and can demonstrate.
- Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code— we use AWS CDK, but experience with any equivalent tooling is relevant.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS desired) and modern DevOps practices.
- Exposure to security / SecOps concerns, even if security hasn’t been your primary role.
- Comfortable operating in environments where not everything is "finished" or polished.
Nice to Have
- Experience with observability tooling— we use Datadog.
- Familiarity with DNS, networking, and cloud networking concepts.
- Experience with SRE practices or reliability engineering.
- Prior involvement in re‑platforming, migrations, or infrastructure uplift projects.
- Prior involvement in security reviews, risk mitigation, or compliance‑driven work.
- Experience scaling infrastructure in growing teams or fast‑moving organisations.
Ways of Working
- Pragmatic, outcome‑focused, and low on unnecessary processes.
- We value people who fix problems rather than wait for perfect conditions.
- Clear communication is important—especially when explaining technical trade‑offs to non‑specialists.
Why This Role Matters
- This hire directly contributes to strategic platform and security work.
- You’ll have real influence on how infrastructure evolves.
- You’ll work alongside senior technical leadership, not underneath layers of bureaucracy.
- There’s scope for the role to grow as the team grows.
Reporting Line
- Reports into the Infrastructure Lead.
- Works closely with Engineering and Platform stakeholders.
