Cardo Group is a trusted provider of building maintenance, refurbishment, and retrofit services for social housing and public sector buildings across the UK. We specialise in responsive repairs and voids, planned maintenance, energy-efficiency upgrades, compliance works, and major improvement programmes.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out commercial and domestic installation works, including gas heating systems, plumbing, sanitaryware, and air source heat pumps (ASHPs), across a range of commercial projects. This role involves installation, commissioning, and maintenance to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission gas-fired heating systems, boilers, and associated plant in domestic and commercial properties.
  • Install and commission air source heat pumps (ASHPs) and associated pipework and controls.
  • Carry out pipework installation (copper, steel, and plastic) for hot and cold-water services, heating, and gas systems.
  • Install and connect plumbing and sanitaryware (toilets, basins, sinks, showers, urinals, etc.) to specification.
  • Ensure compliance with gas safety regulations, water regulations, and renewable energy installation standards.
  • Undertake fault-finding, repairs, and system upgrades as required.
  • Work on a variety of projects, including schools, public sector sites and commercial projects.
  • Liaise with clients, site managers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Complete all relevant documentation, certificates, and commissioning records accurately.
  • Adhere to health & safety policies, risk assessments, and method statements at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various gas systems effectively.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
