As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused First Line IT Support Engineer to join our IT team.

The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support to colleagues across the firm, assisting with hardware, software and Microsoft 365 issues, whilst gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies and IT projects.

Key Responsibilities
- IT Support
- Provide first-line technical support to colleagues across the firm via telephone, email, remote support and in person.
- Log, prioritise and resolve IT support requests through the helpdesk system.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, mobile device and peripheral issues.
- Escalate more complex technical issues where appropriate.
- User Administration
- Assist with creating and managing user accounts within Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
- Reset passwords and maintain user permissions.
- Support mailbox administration and user onboarding/offboarding.
- Hardware & Software
- Prepare, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile phones and other IT equipment.
- Install and configure approved software applications.
- Maintain IT equipment inventory and asset records.
- Assist with hardware replacements and office moves.
- Infrastructure Support
- Assist the wider IT team with routine maintenance of servers, cloud services and network infrastructure.
- Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, Share Point and One Drive.
- Assist with software updates and security patching.
- Help maintain remote access solutions including VPN and Citrix.
- Projects
- Support IT projects including hardware refreshes, software deployments and office relocations.
- Assist with testing and implementing new technologies.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers where required.
- Documentation & Security
- Keep accurate records within the IT helpdesk system.
- Produce user guides and technical documentation where appropriate.
- Follow all IT security policies and report any security concerns promptly.
- Promote good cyber security practices across the firm.
- Travel
- Travel to GT Stewart offices across England to provide onsite support and assist with IT installations and maintenance when required.
Person Specification
- Previous experience within an IT support or service desk environment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience configuring laptops, desktops and printers.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory.
- Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Exposure to Microsoft Intune or Mobile Device Management.
- Experience supporting cloud-based telephony systems.
- Knowledge of legal case management systems such as Partner for Windows.
- Microsoft, Comp TIA or ITIL certifications.
