We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our People Team and take ownership of payroll for over 600 employees across our UK operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys managing payroll from start to finish and wants to play a key role in delivering a great employee experience. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you'll work closely with HR, Finance and operational teams to ensure colleagues are paid accurately, on time and in line with the latest legislation. What you will be doing:

  • Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process for 300+ employees
  • Processing starters, leavers, contractual changes and salary amendments
  • Administering workplace pensions and pension uploads
  • Managing payroll-related benefits and deductions
  • Supporting a number of outsourced payroll arrangements
  • Producing payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Responding to payroll and pension queries from employees and managers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous payroll experience with responsibility for processing payroll from start to finish
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments
  • Experience administering workplace pensions
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong Excel and data management skills
  • A proactive and customer‑focused approach
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers
  • CIPP qualification (or working towards one)
