To ensure the effective day-to-day management, safety, and maintenance of a sheltered housing scheme, providing a secure, clean, and supportive environment for residents. The Site Manager acts as the first point of contact for residents, contractors, and visitors, helping to promote independent living and residents' wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, communal areas, grounds, and equipment.
- Ensure the scheme is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
- Report repairs and maintenance issues and monitor completion by contractors.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.
- Ensure fire safety systems and emergency equipment are regularly checked.
- Monitor security arrangements and respond to emergencies when required.
- Act as a visible and approachable presence for residents.
- Provide information and assistance regarding housing services and local support agencies.
- Promote residents' independence and wellbeing.
- Assist with resident meetings and community activities.
- Respond appropriately to welfare concerns and safeguard vulnerable adults in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and organisational policies.
- Undertake routine health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain records relating to fire safety, accidents, incidents, and statutory checks.
- Coordinate emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed satisfactorily.
- Monitor cleaning, grounds maintenance, and other support services.
- Report poor performance and ensure service standards are maintained.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
- Keep resident information confidential in line with data protection requirements.
- Assist with tenancy-related administration and occupancy records.
- Use computer systems to record repairs, inspections, and communications.
You Will Need
- Experience in housing, facilities management, caretaking, or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements, including fire safety.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
- Basic IT skills and record-keeping ability.
- Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
- Ability to build positive relationships with older or vulnerable residents.
Qualifications
- CSCS card in Site Management
- A recognised building/trade qualification
