About the Roles
We are looking for three exceptional Senior Product Marketing Managers, each responsible for leading the commercial success of a core product portfolio at Tropic: Skincare; Makeup, Tanning & Sun Care; and Body Care & Wellness. This is a rare opportunity for a highly strategic, commercially savvy and beauty-obsessed marketer to partner closely with the Product Development Manager for their category and act as their senior marketing counterpart, shaping how products are developed, positioned, launched and grown.
You will be responsible for shaping the story, launch strategy, education, advocacy and commercial performance of your category, ensuring every product has a clear role in the portfolio and the strongest possible chance of success in market. You will be involved from early concept through to launch, helping shape what gets made and how it succeeds in market. This is not a traditional campaign execution role. It is a commercially accountable category leadership role. Success in this role will be measured through category sales growth, launch performance, product contribution and margin improvement.
For the right person, this is a rare chance to work closely with Founder Susie and Product Development to shape exceptional products from concept to commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Growth & Commercial Performance
- Own the product marketing strategy for your category, with clear accountability for category sales growth, product performance and margin improvement.
- Partner closely with the Product Development Manager to refine product strategy, portfolio priorities and growth opportunities.
- Identify opportunities across hero products, whitespace, repromoted, pricing, bundling, gifting, cross-sell and portfolio mix.
- Support product refinements and portfolio optimisation where needed.
- Use performance data, consumer insight and market context to improve decision-making and drive better outcomes.
- Strategic Partnership with Product Development
- Work alongside the Product Development Manager from concept through to launch and optimisation.
- Bring the consumer, brand and commercial lens into product development from the outset.
- Contribute to proposition development, pricing, pack architecture and portfolio logic.
- Be actively involved in product testing and development sign-off to ensure a best-in-class standard.
- Product Positioning & Storytelling
- Develop compelling, differentiated and conversion-focused product stories for both new and existing products.
- Translate technical product truth into clear, persuasive consumer messaging.
- Build narratives that explain who the product is for, why it matters and why Tropic is uniquely placed to win.
- Bring a strong understanding of beauty consumer behaviour and category trends into every brief and launch.
- Launch & Go-To-Market Leadership
- Lead the go-to-market strategy for all launches within your category.
- Build launch narratives, messaging hierarchies and reasons to believe.
- Brief and align cross-functional teams across Creative, Content, PR, Social, Digital, CRM, Education and Commercial.
- Ensure launches are fully supported across all channels.
- Partner with PR and influencer teams to drive advocacy, relevance and external buzz.
- Own product asset direction, ensuring all visuals maximise desirability and conversion.
- Create clear, compelling and highly sellable product education materials.
- Equip Ambassadors with the language, confidence and product understanding to sell effectively.
- Develop launch toolkits, product guides and comparison materials.
- Translate complexity into clear, compelling selling language.
- Take responsibility for the full health of the category, not just NPD.
- Ensure hero products, core lines and underleveraged products are marketed effectively.
- Identify opportunities to refresh, reposition or rationalise products.
- Support decisions around discontinuation, renovation and relaunch.
- Ensure the portfolio remains clear, competitive and commercially strong.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in product marketing, brand marketing or category marketing within beauty.
- Proven track record of launching products that delivered strong commercial results.
- Experience influencing product proposition and go-to-market strategy.
- Strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
- Experience working cross-functionally with key teams.
- Strong commercial instinct and understanding of what drives product success.
Skills & Capabilities
- Exceptional product storytelling and messaging ability.
- Strong grasp of consumer psychology and what drives purchase.
- Commercially sharp, with strong instinct for sales, profitability and category opportunity.
- Strong visual taste and creative judgement.
- Excellent at briefing and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Highly organised and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident operating with senior stakeholders.
- Deep category passion and product sensitivity.
Who You Are
You are commercially driven, strategically strong and deeply immersed in beauty. You care about formulas, textures, claims, performance, packaging and positioning, and how they connect to commercial success.
You are also:
- Beauty-obsessed and genuinely immersed in your category.
- A strong storyteller with a sharp instinct for what will resonate.
- Commercially aware and motivated by performance.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive and full of ideas.
- Hands-on and comfortable operating at pace.
