The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 € per year.
This is a hybrid office based role in Coventry. (3 days office /2 days home working) Weekly hours: 37.5 Shift: Mon - Fri, covering an 8hr shift between 7am-5pm, 30 mins unpaid lunch.
Duties: You will need to support the Technical Maintenance team and effectively communicate with both Customer and Supplier teams to ensure that vehicle downtime for all vehicle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is managed on a best cost/quality basis. You will need to ensure that such incidents are expedited in the fastest manner possible, and the vehicle is returned to service without undue delay, in line with legal requirements and agreed KPI’s. It’s essential that you are able to build relationships with suppliers and stay on top of processing authorisation requests daily.
Job Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Delivery of cost & service effective maintenance solutions to satisfy customer needs within Fraikin maintenance budgets & agreed customer service KPIs.
- Ensure cost effective maintenance solutions are met on every occasion by checking history & warranty.
- Challenge all work to ensure that all maintenance is carried out to cost and quality standards.
- Monitoring & reporting on customer VOR’s to proactively manage & minimise the downtime of customer assets.
- Check contracts for vehicles and their specific collection/ delivery and substitute allocation costs and entitlements.
- When a recharge is identified gain all necessary evidence & reports to allow the coordinators to liaise with customers to obtain order numbers.
- Challenge all costs in line with Supplier Repairing Dealer (RDA’s) agreements & National Parts Agreements (NPA’s).
- Monitoring and controlling VOR’s and ensure maintenance spend is kept within budgets.
- Assist the supplier advisors & customer Coordinators within the Fraikin Service Centre.
- Ensure that when authorising repairs, the history on the vehicle is checked thoroughly for any parts warranty / warranty / rework, recharge or policy entitlement that can be claimed.
- If necessary source new and used parts to assist repairers and elevate down time.
- Identify and resolve any issues with appropriate suppliers.
- Identify issues & suppliers and resolve whilst maintaining and building an effective relationship.
- Liaise with the Regional Engineering Manager where resolutions cannot be met.
- Obtain any necessary credits from supplier / manufacture failures that have been identified.
- Demonstrate that vehicle downtime is managed in a proactive manner in line with agreed KPIs.
- When rechargeable work is carried out, ensure the relevant costs are accrued and coded & customers are informed.
- Update the cost avoidance tracker with negotiated savings for future reporting on OEM and suppliers support offered outside of warranty. (Goodwill and campaigns)
Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):
- Time served as an HGV/LGV Technician and/or Workshop Controller and extensive knowledge of maintenance standards for LGV and HGV vehicles.
- Previous experience (or similar) within a busy maintenance control room environment dealing with scheduling/maintenance of commercial rental/contract hire/fleet management vehicles with third party suppliers.
- In depth knowledge of repair times and parts cost.
- Proven track record of cost management within a similar environment.
- Negotiating and communication skills at all levels.
- IT literate and able to produce reports within tableau or excel where required.
- Will work best on their own initiative and take pride in ensuring that work is seen through to completion.
- Be flexible in attitude in providing solutions to problems.
- Ability to interact confidently and build credibility with customers and suppliers.
- Knowledge of Audatex and Body Shop repair processes would be preferred but not essential.
