Description

Overview

We are Trampoline NH CIC, a social enterprise that provides business incubation services, supports community enterprises, and promotes ethical leadership in SMEs, in underserved communities.

The Enterprise Hub is our multifaceted facility in Elephant and Castle, home to co-working and networking areas, a Fab Lab, a Design Lab, podcast recording facilities, and meeting and training suites.

Introduction

We are seeking a warm, proactive and highly presentable Community Associate to be the face of The Enterprise Hub and the person who makes it feel like somewhere people want to be.

This is a front-of-house and hospitality role first. The successful candidate will be the first person a member, visitor or contractor meets, and the person who notices when the coffee has run out, a chair is broken, or a new member has been sitting alone all morning. They will run the reception desk, look after the diary, keep the building presentable and welcoming, and build genuine relationships with the people who use it. They must have at least two years of experience in a similar capacity and environment and be eligible to work in the UK.

We are not looking for someone to just sit behind a screen. We want someone who will take ownership..., set the tone..., bring their own ideas..., and make connection with potential members and partners

The job

The role will focus on delivering the following outputs:

  • Be the welcome: run the front desk during opening hours, greet every member, guest and visitor personally, and handle enquiries in person, by phone and by email.
  • Look after the space: open and close the building, complete regular walk rounds, and keep the co-working floor, meeting rooms, studio and shared areas clean, tidy, stocked and correctly set up throughout the day.
  • Run the diary: manage day-to-day room and studio bookings, set up and reset rooms between sessions, and keep the booking calendar accurate, in collaboration with the Office & Admin Associate.
  • Keep the systems tidy: log check-ins, keep member and visitor records up to date, issue access cards and day passes, and ensure hub users access only the facilities they are entitled to use.
  • Host visitors and events: give tours to prospective members, host external hirers on the day, and provide practical on-the-day support for Capsules, open days, inductions and showcase events.
  • Spot and fix: report faults, meet and supervise contractors and suppliers, handle deliveries and post, monitor stock and place routine orders, and resolve small problems before they become complaints.
  • Make it their own: take ownership of how the Hub presents itself day to day, from layout and signage to the noticeboard and atmosphere, and bring forward ideas that make the space warmer, busier and better used.

Conditions of employment

  • Salary: £30,784 (growing to £31,500 after probation).
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00, with occasional evening or Saturday cover for events (for which Time Off In Lieu will be granted).
  • Contract Type: Fixed term, payroll.
  • Pension Contribution: Employer (3%) and employee (minimum 5%).
  • Term: 12 months, renewable (subject to contract extension and meeting KPIs).
  • Location: The Enterprise Hub, SE1 6NT. This role is on site at all times.
  • Proposed Start Date: 26th October 2026.
  • Accountable to: Head of Operations.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

We are looking for a welcoming, dependable and detail-driven individual who takes real pride in a space and in the experience of the people using it. You will be comfortable working on your own initiative for large parts of the day, and confident enough to talk to anyone who walks through the door.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and abilities:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a front-of-house, reception, hospitality or customer service role.
  • A genuinely welcoming manner, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pride in presentation and an eye for detail, noticing what is out of place and putting it right without being asked.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a desk, a phone, a diary and a walk-in at the same time.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (MS Office, booking systems, CRM).
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and stay calm under pressure.
  • A positive attitude toward entrepreneurship and community development.
  • Willingness to work on a job-share basis and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a co-working space, members’ club, hotel, gallery, gym or similar hosted environment.
  • Experience opening and closing a building or acting as a keyholder.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, first aid, fire marshalling or GDPR compliance.
  • Interest in entrepreneurship, creative industries, or business support services.
  • Confidence around creative and fabrication equipment, or a willingness to learn the basics.
