We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Newquay. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a vibrant hospitality and catering environment. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and contributing to a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including food hygiene practices.
  • Support the team in stock management and inventory control.
  • Participate in menu planning and development as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen staff.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably as a Commis Chef or similar role.
  • Basic food hygiene certification.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
