Description

The role

We’re looking for an organised, proactive and approachable Business Support Assistant to help keep our day-to-day business operations running smoothly.

This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the business. You’ll provide administrative and coordination support across Createc, helping with everything from travel arrangements, couriers and office administration to welcoming visitors, preparing meeting rooms and supporting employee events.

You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys helping others, takes ownership of their work and can confidently manage a varied workload.

As this role provides essential on-site business support, it is based at our Cockermouth office throughout the working week.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative and office support, including post, purchasing records and telephone enquiries.
  • Coordinating UK courier bookings and supporting international shipments.
  • Arranging employee travel and supporting travel coordination for Directors.
  • Managing company vehicle and Createc House bookings.
  • Coordinating visitor requirements and ensuring meeting rooms are ready and welcoming.
  • Supporting the Marketing team with employee events, including bookings, communications and on-site arrangements.
  • Undertaking local collections and other business-related errands when required.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have:

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
  • Good attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate records.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • The ability to use your initiative, work independently and take ownership of tasks.
  • A friendly, dependable and professional approach.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for local business-related duties.

Previous experience in an administrative, business support, office or customer-facing role would be an advantage, as would experience arranging travel, couriers, meetings or events. A Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Business Administration, or equivalent qualification, is also desirable.
