The Opportunity

My client operates a busy and highly regarded café and events venue within a unique and beautiful setting in the heart of West London. Serving a loyal local community alongside private events and functions, the business is entering an exciting period of development with plans to evolve its food offering towards a more seasonal, restaurant-quality menu while continuing to deliver exceptional event catering. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef who wants to be more than just a number in a brigade. The successful candidate will have genuine input into menu creation, seasonal development, and kitchen operations.

The Role

Working closely with the Café & Hospitality Manager, you will be a hands-on leader within the kitchen, supporting daily service, maintaining high standards, and helping drive the food offering forward. This role requires someone who is confident working in a fast-paced fresh food environment, enjoys leading by example, and takes pride in delivering consistently excellent food.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Lead service in the absence of senior management
  • Prepare and deliver fresh, high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Assist in developing seasonal menus and specials
  • Contribute ideas to improve the food offering and customer experience
  • Manage food preparation, stock rotation, and waste control
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations
  • Support and develop junior kitchen team members
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house colleagues to deliver exceptional service
  • Assist with catering for private events and functions

What We're Looking For
