Location: Canary Wharf or Hybrid (base yourself in our Canary Wharf office - or work from anywhere in the UK with regular visits to our office for training, development and team meetings)

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Full Time CYP ADHD & Autism (ASC) Assessor to join our multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental team. What You’ll Be Doing:

As a CYP ADHD & ASC Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in the assessment process for children and young people seeking ADHD and/or Autism diagnosis and support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • ADHD & ASC Assessment Responsibilities
    • Conducting comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments using structured interviews, developmental history, behavioural observations, and validated diagnostic tools (e.g., SNAP-IV, SDQ, SCQ, BOSA, ADI‑R where applicable).
    • Gathering collateral information from guardians, schools, and other professionals to inform diagnostic formulation.
    • Developing high‑quality, individualised assessment reports with clear diagnostic reasoning, functional formulation, and recommendations for support and reasonable adjustments.
    • Providing compassionate, neuro‑affirming guidance to CYP and their guardians throughout the assessment journey.
    • Working collaboratively within a diverse multidisciplinary team, recognising the unique skills each profession brings to ADHD and ASC assessment.
  • Clinical Quality & Service Development
    • Collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless, person‑centred assessment experience.
    • Staying current with ADHD and ASC research and best practice, integrating this knowledge into assessments and clinical decision‑making.
    • Supporting the Clinical Ops Lead for CYP in reviewing complaints related to the assessment pathway and conducting thorough reviews of concerns raised by service users and/or their guardians.
    • Supporting the Clinical Ops Lead, Head of Clinical Care Hub and Clinical Director in auditing the assessment pathway and contributing to service improvement by identifying recurring themes and escalating systemic issues.
    • Supporting in‑person training and sign‑off events for new CYP Assessors at our Canary Wharf office.

To thrive in this role you’ll need to:

We’re looking for someone for this full‑time, permanent position who is not only clinically skilled but also adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic service. You’ll need a relevant clinical qualification (e.g., Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work). You’ll have experience working with children and young people in CAMHS and neurodevelopmental assessment services, specifically Autism assessments. Ideally, you’ll also have experience contributing to ADHD assessments. Must hold a recognised qualification in ADOS‑2 and/or ADI‑R, with proven experience delivering these assessments in clinical practice. Registered with one of the following Registered Bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, Health and Care Professions Council or Social Work England. A strong understanding of ADHD, Autism, and related mental health or developmental challenges in CYP, along with familiarity with the diagnostic tools used in assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, young people and their guardians, and provide compassionate, neuroaffirming support. A collaborative approach — working well with multidisciplinary teams is key to our success. The ability to manage multiple assessments efficiently. Strong report‑writing skills with great attention to detail. A proactive mindset — comfortable with change, open to new ways of working, and eager to contribute to a growing service. Important information:

This is a full-time permanent position. The role will require you to be able to work in a quiet, well lit space with good internet access allowing you to conduct confidential 1:1 appointments and assessments in a professional manner. You can either base yourself in our beautiful Canary Wharf office (free drinks, table tennis, and friendly faces supplied!), or you can be hybrid, working remotely from anywhere in the UK with regular visits to the office for training, development and team meetings. Full training around assessments is provided.
