Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team.
This is an opportunity for a part-time or full-time role.
Reporting to the Ward Manager, the successful registered nurse will be required to work across both Outpatients and the Ward, providing the highest standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team, including:
- Ensure the smooth running of clinics assessing the needs of the patient, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care
- Provide healthcare advice, educating patients/family/carers on the condition, medications, self-care and health maintenance, answering any questions they may have
- Record and maintain accurate patient medical records and histories on the relevant care pathways, clinical forms and IT systems
- Carry out clinical nursing procedures, including administering medication, assistance with minor procedures, monitoring vital signs, ECG, venepuncture, chaperoning
- Report changes and concerns regarding patients health to the Ward/Outpatient Manager or nurse in charge
- Participate in audit processes for monitoring nursing quality
- Maintain and practice comprehensive handover of clinics between shifts, departments and multidisciplinary team including external agencies

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with NMC
Experience
- Clinical nursing experience in outpatients, theatre or clinic environment
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team
- Evidence of clinical competence and regular clinical practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding procedures
Skills
- Phlebotomy, wound dressings, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics.
- Experience in plastics and dermatology
- Comprehensive written, numerical and verbal communication skills
- Experience in computer skills using MS Office Suite and web based reporting systems
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
- Enthusiasm for cross functional working within clinical departments as reasonably required.
- Experience in the private sector
- Relevant clinical skills in addition to assist with minor procedures
