Full-time Permanent, 2+ years experience.

Location: Medway

Working hours: 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Contract type: Permanent.

This role is for a Construction Multi Skills Vocational Trainer with experience in Plastering, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, and/or Bricklaying, or a general all-rounder with prior experience teaching a multi-skill course. The trainer will deliver engaging lessons, foster a love of learning, and help young learners reach their potential.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Industry recognised qualification in Construction, Multi Skills.
  • Post 16 teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe).
  • English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or above (or willingness to gain them).
  • Proven track record of professional or vocational expertise in the Construction sector.
  • Experience in FE teaching and training is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, practical multi-skills construction sessions to small groups of learners.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to meet individual needs and learning objectives.
  • Create and manage tailored learning plans that support learners' progression and long-term aspirations.
  • Provide pastoral support, advice, and guidance to learners throughout their programme.
  • Use a variety of teaching and training methods to engage learners with different learning styles.
  • Ensure all learning delivery meets quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and record learner progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding and equality standards.
  • Achieve quality targets, including those related to learner achievement, inclusion, progression and destination.
  • Conduct risk assessments of all activities, prioritising safety for yourself, learners, and others.
