About the role
The Intensive Support Service, part of The Enablement Hub (a trading name of PBS4), is currently looking to build upon its pool of specialist Intensive Support Workers to be responsive to emergency situations at extremely short notice. Support may come from a variety of sources including commissioners, the NHS and/or other social care providers across the South Coast. You would be a key asset in building a dedicated team to ensure any immediate support provided is person-centred, of high quality, delivered safely and in line with the needs and requirements of the person being supported.
Some of the emergency support we have provided to date has demonstrated that this role is suited to highly skilled/experienced team members who have a background in supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health diagnosis and complex care needs. Experience of working with people who can present with behaviours that can be seen as challenging is crucial in getting support right. You will need to be patient, empathetic, understanding, and resilient as being consistent for the individual in times of crisis is key to them feeling safe. The Intensive Support Service is looking for individuals who are not only based locally but also those willing to travel at short notice, where support for travel and accommodation can be provided.
About you:
- 2 years+ experience working within Social Care.
- Have worked in 2:1, 3:1 or 4:1 support provision.
- Driver with own vehicle – UK Driving license beneficial to drive the person we support’s car when required.
- Active, mobile, resilient, empathetic, encouraging, supportive, patient, passionate about person-centred social care.
- Experience of positive behaviour support, intensive interaction, and personalised care planning.
- Able to work in the UK – Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be provided.
