One Ashford Hospital, part of Phoenix Hospital Group, are looking for a Theatre Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive theatre team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, proactive and keen to develop their skills within a hospital theatre environment. You will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of theatre lists, ensuring equipment, stock and consumables are prepared and available when needed.
About the role
As a Theatre Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and ordering theatre stock and ensuring supplies are available.
- Preparing equipment and consumables for theatre lists.
- Getting theatres ready for the following day's operating lists.
- Assisting with the preparation of the operating environment before and after sessions.
- Supporting TSSU when required.
- Assisting with the transfer of patients into and out of the operating department.
- Providing support within theatres, including relieving colleagues for tea and lunch breaks.
- Completing daily and weekly checks.
- Supporting qualified practitioners with agreed patient care and theatre activities.
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality and infection control requirements.
About you

- A good communicator with sound written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems.

- Keen to learn and develop within the role.
Previous healthcare experience within a hospital environment is required, while previous theatre experience would be desirable. A National Care Certificate and/or Level 2/3 NVQ or equivalent would also be advantageous, although the role offers support and training to develop your skills.
You will join a supportive theatre team where you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of patient care. The role includes appropriate training and development, as well as mandatory training relevant to the position.
