RGH Global is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a respected social care provider for the position of Assistant Service Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-quality supported living service in Margate that provides specialist care to two individuals with complex needs, profound learning disabilities, autism, and mild behaviours that challenge. One individual uses Makaton signs, and both require high levels of personal care support.
The Role
This is a hands-on, leadership position reporting to the Service Manager. You will play a key role in driving service improvement, leading by example, and ensuring outstanding outcomes for the people we support. The role includes participation in the on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with the Service Manager to lead, motivate and develop a positive, high-performing team
- Maintain the delicate balance between keeping people safe and enabling positive risk-taking
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the social care sector and its impact on the lives of the individuals we support
- Ensure full compliance with all policies, procedures and best-practice standards
- Support recruitment, staff development and performance management in a fair, consistent and professional manner
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
- Act as Service Manager during periods of absence
- Work the required shift pattern: early shifts (7:00am – 2:30pm), late shifts (2:00pm – 9:30pm / 2:30pm – 10:00pm), including bank holidays. Occasional extension of shifts may be required for 1:1 staff supervision (no night shifts)
