Known for their exceptional standards, they offer neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments for both children and adults, as well as expert witness services for courts, parole boards, and cases spanning criminal/prison law, family law, immigration law, and medico-legal contexts. With a proven history of excellence, they successfully deliver on NHS contracts.
The Role
This position involves performing detailed specialist assessments, including diagnostic evaluations for individuals with suspected Autism and/or ADHD, using recognised diagnostic tools. You may also assess mental health conditions as needed. These assessments are conducted on behalf of the NHS through GP referrals.
The clinician will be responsible for producing clear, professional assessment reports in a timely manner and recommending suitable interventions. Depending on experience, the role may also include supervising and guiding junior team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered with the NMC as a mental health nurse
- Experience as a neurodevelopmental practitioner with specialist training
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Proven ability to conduct diagnostic neurodevelopmental and specialist developmental assessments with children and/or adults
- Clinical experience supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health challenges
- Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria and relevant assessment tools for Autism and ADHD
- Understanding of differential diagnosis
- Preferably trained in ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in report writing and maintaining accurate records
- Additional qualifications related to Autism and/or ADHD are a plus
- Interest or experience in clinical supervision (key for senior positions)
