We are seeking an experienced and qualified Financial Adviser to join a well‑established, growing independent financial planning firm based in Glasgow city centre. This is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of an existing client bank, within a firm that has invested heavily in technology, people, and proposition. The firm operates as a fully independent IFA, offering whole‑of‑market advice across investments, retirement planning, defined benefit pension transfers, estate planning, protection, and mortgage advice. Advisers are supported by a dedicated paraplanning team and experienced client services staff, enabling a strong focus on advice quality and client relationships. Candidates who are able to bring a portable client bank with existing AUM are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of and manage an established client bank, ensuring continuity, service quality and relationship development.
  • Provide independent, holistic financial planning advice across investments, pensions (including defined benefit), protection, estate planning and related areas.
  • Utilise the firm's Managed Portfolio Service (MPS) proposition where appropriate to deliver consistent, high‑quality investment solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the paraplanning and client services teams to manage the advice process efficiently from start to finish.
  • Leverage the firm's tech‑enabled workflows and AI‑assisted tools to maximise client‑facing time and minimise administration.
  • Identify and act on business development opportunities, including growing the existing client bank through referrals and professional connections.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory developments, product changes, and market conditions.
  • Ensure all client records and files are maintained accurately and to the highest compliance standards.
  • Meet agreed revenue targets and contribute positively to the culture and growth of the firm.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning — CII or equivalent.
  • Active Statement of Professional Standing (SPS).
  • Demonstrable experience as an authorised Financial Adviser within an independent IFA or wealth management firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of FCA compliance obligations and suitability requirements.
  • Experience across investment and pension planning; exposure to DB pension transfer advice is advantageous.
  • Proficient with financial planning software and CRM platforms.
  • Chartered Financial Planner status (or active progress towards) is beneficial but not essential.

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Client‑focused with excellent communication and long‑term relationship management skills.
  • Commercially minded — able to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage a substantial client bank to a consistent standard.
  • Comfortable working in a modern, technology‑enabled environment and open to adopting new tools.
  • High standards of accuracy, integrity, and professional conduct at all times.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to firm culture.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance‑related remuneration package.
  • Candidates able to bring a portable client bank with existing AUM are invited to discuss a tailored remuneration structure.
  • An established client bank to inherit from day one.
  • Dedicated paraplanning support and an experienced client services team.
  • AI‑assisted workflows designed to cut admin and maximise time with clients.
  • A stable, independently‑owned firm with a strong track record and genuine long‑term career prospects.
