An established and growing wealth management firm is looking for an ambitious individual to join their Financial Planning team as an Associate Financial Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career path towards becoming a fully qualified, regulated Financial Planner, working alongside experienced senior planners who will support your development every step of the way. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to both the client‑facing and technical sides of financial planning — from client onboarding and relationship management through to paraplanning, research and report writing — giving you a genuinely rounded grounding in the profession.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting planners' workflows by coordinating central services and working collaboratively across the wider team
  • Preparing and submitting client due diligence and new account documentation as part of the onboarding process
  • Organising client meetings, valuations and meeting packs, and managing planners' diaries
  • Acting as a first point of contact for client queries, escalating more complex matters where appropriate and adapting your approach for clients in vulnerable circumstances
  • Managing client correspondence, application forms and service agreements with a high standard of accuracy
  • Maintaining accurate client records on the firm's planning software
  • Handling finance-related queries such as invoicing, billing and commissions
  • Conducting research to support suitable recommendations based on client needs, objectives and existing arrangements
  • Carrying out calculations and cash-flow modelling to underpin recommendations
  • Drafting clear, fair and accurate suitability reports and client letters
  • Preparing technical documents and research materials for client presentations
  • Proactively flagging areas of potential future advice opportunities to planners
  • Working towards professional qualifications, with full study support
  • Building your commercial and relationship‑building skills, including networking with professional introducers
  • Getting involved in wider business projects aimed at improving processes and service delivery
  • Learning the fundamentals of pipeline management and business development, in preparation for a future advisory career

What We’re Looking For

  • A 2:1 degree or above (any discipline)
  • Willingness to work towards the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, with a longer‑term commitment to Advanced Diploma / Chartered status
  • Comfortable using Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial planning software is a bonus but not essential — full training given
  • Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail
  • A confident, professional communicator who can build rapport with clients and colleagues alike
  • Well organised, resilient, and comfortable managing multiple priorities to deadlines
  • A proactive, flexible attitude with a genuine interest in a long‑term career in financial planning

What’s on Offer

  • Structured progression pathway towards a regulated Financial Planner role
  • Full study support towards industry qualifications
  • Mentoring from experienced, senior planners
  • Exposure to both technical paraplanning and client relationship management
  • A collaborative, professional working environment with genuine long‑term career prospects
