We are seeking an experienced PV Engineer to install, commission, service, and maintain Solar PV systems across residential and small commercial sites in London and the Home Counties. The successful candidate will be technically competent, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Install Solar PV systems including roof-mounted and ground-mounted arrays
- Carry out commissioning, testing, and system handovers
- Diagnose and repair faults on existing PV systems
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance visits
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations (BS 7671, MCS, DNO requirements)
- Complete electrical and installation documentation accurately
- Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and internal teams
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle to a high standard
- Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all times
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience installing and maintaining Solar PV systems
- Strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability
- Experience working on residential and/or small commercial projects
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good customer-facing communication skills
Qualifications (Essential)
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- AM2 (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Qualifications (Desirable)
- MCS Solar PV Installation Certification
- Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent)
- ECS Gold Card
- Experience with battery storage systems (e.g. Tesla, GivEnergy, SolarEdge)
