About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Handyman to join our team, covering Central Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving property issues related to damp and mould, as well as carrying out general maintenance and repair works to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, treat, and prevent damp and mould issues in residential properties
- Carry out loft insulation installation and upgrades
- Perform plastering repairs and finishing work
- Undertake washing/cleaning of affected surfaces and boards
- Complete general handyman duties including minor repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with regulations
- Provide excellent customer service when working in occupied properties
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Handyman or Property Maintenance Operative
- Strong knowledge of damp and mould treatment
- Experience with loft insulation and basic plastering
- Ability to carry out a range of general repair works
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
- Experience working in social housing or tenanted properties
- Relevant trade qualifications (plastering, insulation, or similar)
- Health & Safety awareness (e.g., CSCS card)
