Fire Alarm Service Engineer

Location: South London & Surrounding Areas Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per annum + Company Vehicle + Fuel Card + Training Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our growing team, covering South London and the surrounding areas.

This role involves servicing, maintenance, fault finding, compliance inspections and small remedial works on a wide range of commercial and residential fire alarm systems.

Experience with AOV and smoke control systems would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, inspect and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Complete small works, remedial works and system modifications.
  • Replace, commission and test conventional, addressable and wireless fire alarm devices.
  • Upload, download and configure fire alarm control panels.
  • Carry out fire alarm condition surveys and identify opportunities for system improvements or upgrades.
  • Test and verify Cause & Effect (C&E) programming.
  • Complete maintenance reports, compliance documentation and service records accurately.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current industry standards and company procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working on commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Good working knowledge of BS 5839.
  • Ability to identify system defects, non-compliances and recommend appropriate remedial works.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Fire Alarm Systems Experience
  • Experience working with one or more of the following manufacturers is essential:
  • Advanced
  • Morley
  • Kentec
  • EDA
  • Haes
  • C-TEC

Experience with open protocol fire alarm systems is highly desirable.

  • Wireless Fire Alarm Experience
  • Experience with any of the following wireless systems would be advantageous:
  • Hyfire
  • EMS
  • Zerio
  • AOV & Smoke Control (Desirable)
  • Knowledge or experience of AOV and smoke control systems is desirable, including:
  • Teal
  • Actulux
  • Window Master
  • SE Controls
  • Easi-Vent

Applicants with experience of AOV operation, Cause & Effect programming, compliance testing and fault diagnosis will be at an advantage.
