This contractor delivers a full package of construction-related services and has an impressive portfolio of projects, including new build commercial developments and complex refurbishment schemes across the Education, Healthcare, Leisure, and Defence sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the successful delivery of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and programme requirements are met.
  • Work closely with the project team to support effective project delivery.
  • Ensure works are progressing on track — on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Liaise with and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and review site reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Manage the supply chain, direct employees, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to on-site teams.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar Site Manager role with a main contractor.
  • Experience managing multi-million-pound projects across sectors such as Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Leisure, or Defence.
  • HNC or higher qualification in Construction or a related field.
  • Demonstrated financial awareness and commercial understanding.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and site procedures.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and travel across Devon as needed.
  • Valid SMSTS, CSCS card, First Aid at Work certification, and full UK driving licence.
