A family-run residential developer with a strong reputation for quality is looking for an Architectural Technician / Technologist to join their growing in-house design team in Truro. With a healthy pipeline of projects ranging from high quality 5-unit schemes to large-scale 300-unit communities, this is an exceptional opportunity to get involved in the full lifecycle of design and delivery. This developer takes pride in designing and delivering every home in house to a high standard.
As part of a small but expanding team, you’ll work alongside the Technical Director and another Architectural Technologist. This position is open to Architectural Technologists / Technicians with varying levels of experience, from those with a few years in practice to more senior levels. With a strong and growing pipeline of work, the team remains flexible on experience level, but candidates should bring a solid practical foundation and be ready to get involved from day one.

Key Responsibilities:- Create feasibility layouts and develop standard house types and construction details
- Prepare and submit planning and building control drawings and supporting documentation
- Assist with RFIs and technical queries during construction
- Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and service providers
- Support due diligence on new sites (planning, utilities, constraints)
- Help refine interior specifications and materials
- Collate and track project drawings and documents
- Architectural degree or relevant experience within residential architecture
- Confident using CAD (Archicad or 3D modelling a bonus, not essential)
- Experience in producing planning and technical drawings
- Able to review consultant and manufacturer information with a critical eye
- Strong communicator, organised, and willing to get stuck into all aspects of delivery
