A growing building services consultancy seeks a Graduate BEMS Consultant – London - £28,000 to support delivery of Building Energy Management Systems, controls and smart building services. Based in Central London, this permanent role suits a graduate keen to develop technical expertise within an experienced team. The successful candidate assists with controls surveys, feasibility studies, specification reviews and energy management activity, while contributing to concept design, tender support, cost review and contractor evaluation. Further duties include commissioning, optimisation and client reporting. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and clear communication are essential, alongside a relevant engineering degree. The position offers structured mentoring and broad exposure across varied client projects, with a salary between £25,000 and £28,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BEMS and controls surveys, producing clear findings and client recommendations.
- Assist with feasibility studies, specification reviews, technical evaluations and energy management activity.
- Contribute to concept design, tender support, cost review and contractor evaluation.
- Support commissioning, witness testing, snagging and project progress reporting.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams while developing consultancy skills.
Skills and Attributes
- Understanding of building services, BMS, controls or smart building technologies.
- Strong technical interest with good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to engage clients, contractors and project teams.
- Organised, self-motivated and keen to develop within a consultancy environment.
- Good IT skills with the ability to produce clear reports and technical documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
- HNC, degree or equivalent qualification in electrical, mechanical, building services or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience or exposure within BMS, controls, building services, systems integration or consultancy would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of platforms such as Trend, Tridium or Niagara would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Based in London with travel to client sites as required; training and development will be provided.
