RGB seeks a Structural Engineer for its Exeter office on a permanent basis, with hybrid working and 25 days holiday. The salary is £35,000 to £45,000. The successful candidate will join a consultancy designing building structures across residential, industrial, leisure and eco sectors. Duties include preparing calculations, drawings and reports, liaising with clients and architects, and supporting projects from concept to completion. Applicants should be working towards chartered status, with strong technical and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant design software is expected. The handle projects from a variety of sectors including; basement extensions, high end “Grand Design” properties, major industrial work, local sports clubs, spas and leisure facilities. As well as more traditional buildings they also design innovative eco structures and have recently completed the Country’s largest straw bale building.

The Role

We are looking for a Structural Engineer who is comfortable running their own projects, someone who is happy to liaise with clients and has a real interest in the design of buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Producing drawings, design calculations, structural reports, surveys and undertaking site visits with occasional visits to the South East
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and architects maintaining and developing relationships
  • Working with all traditional materials including; steel, concrete, timber and masonry as well as eco materials such as straw bale
  • Helping in the development of the team, mentoring junior engineers and technicians while yourself working towards chartered status
  • Attending CPD and industry networking events
