Senior Transport PlannerManchester Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 – Depends on Experience An exciting opportunity awaits a talented Senior transport planner in Manchester. The role involves leading transport planners, delivering complex projects, and shaping solutions for multimillion-pound schemes.Company & Role ProfileThis employee-owned consultancy specializes in the built environment, with over 300 employees across 14 UK offices. A strong commitment to employee well-being and professional growth drives their success. The Manchester office comprises of 10 transport planners, from graduates to technical leaders.Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Prepare Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and transport sections of Environmental Statements.
- Project Leadership: Oversee tasks and projects, ensuring clear communication within the team.
- Client Interaction: Represent the company in meetings with clients, planners, architects, and contractors.
- Design Contribution: Assist in developing site access designs and masterplans, considering all transport modes.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in all projects.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively to ensure efficiency.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to Transport Planners and Graduates.
Key Requirements:
- A relevant degree (or equivalent) and actively working towards a professional qualification.
- Extensive experience as a Transport Planner, preferably in a consultancy setting.
- Ability to manage multiple client expectations and contribute effectively to project meetings.
- Commercial awareness with a basic understanding of project finances.
- Strong numerical skills, data analysis capability, and proficiency in junction modelling software such as JUNCTIONS and LinSig (or equivalent).
